Trinity Beach is located in tropical North Queensland and approximately 30 minutes, 20km north of Cairns CBD. There is a bus route running from the Cairns to multiple stops in the Trinity Beach Area including the beach front.

Whilst there is a lot of residents in this growing area of North Queensland, it still is a great holiday destination with numerous short term accommodation options to suit every budget.

There are restaurants that seem to be always busy down on the waterfront for a relaxing night out with the family. Or you might prefer to have an afternoon at Trinity Beach Sports club and watch the Central Trinity Beach Australian Rules football team in the winter months which we at 1300 4 Gardening are proud to be a sponsor of.

There is shopping locally or travel back to Smithfield shopping center where they have some bigger retailers and an industrial area with Bunnings and BCF if you need any fishing gear. Even a movie cinema for those rainy days open mid-2017.

Why we love North Queensland at 1300 4 Gardening

The best time to visit North Queensland is in the middle of the year, as around December/January is the wet season and generally hot. The temperatures are sensational at this time of year, in the mid to high 20’s, which makes this area a great place for tourists from the southern states including South East Queensland, wanting reprieve from the colder weather.

When swimming you must be careful as there are stingers in the area normally from around November to May. Most beaches do have stinger nets for you to be able to enjoy a swim all year round. If visiting one of the wonders of the world “THE GREAT BARRIER REEF” (which I suggest should be on every person’s bucket list) to snorkel or scuba dive, you will need to wear a stinger suit. You can do these trips out of Cairns Harbour or Port Douglas with a lot of different operators from straight off the boat to fixed pontoons or even your own little Cay.

As tropical north Queensland has great tourist attractions such as golf with beautiful courses like Paradise Palms, Half Moon Bay, Cairns golf club or the resort course at Port Douglas. Just a short drive up from Cairns area, along one of the most stunning roads in Australia or down the road Port Douglas you will find Hartley’s Crocodile farm. Great day out for the family. If you do this from Cairns on Sunday it is a must that you stop in at Ellis Beach Bar and Grill for the $1 oysters with live music, a cold beer.

While there is a lot of great places to eat when in Cairns like down on the pier with my favorite being Tha Fish, so kid friendly it makes the meal and atmosphere unforgettable. After lunch you could enjoy the afternoon at the Lagoon or in Muddies playground with the kids.

One of my favorite places in the world is Palm Cove. You will be spoilt for choice with all the first class restaurants. Sitting back look at how they build all the resorts and restaurants around the melaleuca trees is a site to be seen.

Whenever I am in Cairns at the 1300 4 Gardening branch, located in Holloways beach, I always try to get out and do some fishing and crabbing. Mud crabs in this region are fantastic and it is not often I get the chance to eat them this fresh. While it is also great to fish off the beach, rocks or the Palm Cove jetty, I try to get out and do some deep sea fishing as this area is arguably one of the best places in the world for it. The charter I use often when I can, is ‘Blown Away’ fishing Charters out of Yorkey’s Knob Harbor. Simon does his best every time, to get everybody a good catch. Some of the local restaurants will even cook your catch.

Cairns is the perfect place to start your day trip to the table lands. With Galleo Dairy for cheeses (that my wife loves) to world class coffee plantations, ice creameries and local produce that you cannot say no to. While down this way you can see a lot of waterfalls and don’t forget to duck down to Babinda Boulders on the way to Paronella Park if you have the time. It makes for a fair bit of driving but the memories will stay with you for a long time, I promise. The other option is to do the sky rail (if you are scared of heights, push yourself, you will not experience anything like it) or steam train up to the historic village of Kuranda. The train leaves from Cairns or Fresh Water station with the sky rail leaving from Smithfield, you are able to get transfers back to your car or hotel if you do both options. This is an area of local markets open daily, including local produce like Kuranda Candy and a small shop making pure sugar cane lollies just to name a few that my kids just love. You will also be able to pick up some great souvenirs and possibly some handmade jewellery. So many options for the kids and adults to do and see.

As you might be able tell I am very passionate and love North Queensland and everything it offers and am absolutely honored to be servicing this area.
