I was fortunate to find employment with a company called Hedge Trimmers, and spent the next 12 months working outdoors in a job I loved – mowing lawns, pruning and hedging, watering, pulling and spraying weeds and general garden maintenance. Life was good, but it was soon to get much better when Joel from Hedge Trimmers offered me the opportunity of taking on my own lawn mowing and gardening franchise under the company’s new name, 1300 4 Gardening. I was very excited to take on this franchise opportunity, as it would allow me to continue doing a job that I loved, but with the flexibility of being my own boss, organising my own daily work schedule and earning a lot more money.
I am still in the early stages of this business franchise, but I can already see the benefits and know that I made the right decision.  I no longer have to get up before the sun or travel long distances to get to work.  Now I work close to home and in my own local territory. I can organise my own work schedule so I can have an occasional day off here or there or to finish my day a little early if I have something planned, but still be earning more money than when I was working on an hourly rate.  As an established business, 1300 4 Gardening has as many customers for me as I can handle, but I still have the potential to grow my business in my own home territory.
It hasn’t all been smooth sailing though, and I admit to struggling with the “paperwork” side of the business which involves computer software programs and technical systems that I am unfamiliar with, but the support from Joel and the 1300 4 Gardening team has been tremendous, and I look forward to their continued support in this area.

Overall, I am very happy with the decision I made to take on this franchise opportunity with 1300 4 Gardening and would recommend taking on a franchise to anyone who is keen to be their own boss, manage their own work schedule, work hard and earn money.
